FIVE YEARS AGO: A New Day, New Beginnings
Here's a blog entry from five years ago today...
Guess who's bizack? I came back from Washington, DC last night and boy did it feel good to be home. It took me almost ten minutes to make it to the bedroom because the kids attacked me at the door with hugs and kisses. It felt great to hear them say "Daddy, I miss you" over and over. Mrs. KB and I ended the evening watching the special features disc of the Star Wars Trilogy DVD
Unfortunately I had to say goodbye to my mother-in-law this morning as she left for her new home in the Midwest. On Wednesday the rest of the family drove out west. She's flying because it will be easier on her post-op and all. We stood in the kitchen embracing for what seem like a millisecond but I know it was longer than that. As we separated and started discussing medical stuff I realized she was crying. Even Baby Girl asked her why she had "drip" on her face. I really feel sorry for those who don't have a close relationship with their in-laws. I think saying "I'm gonna miss them" is such an understatement.
I'm trying to keep myself upbeat today so my radio blog is nothing but maxi-singles. I went through a period in my DJ days where I had all the popular stuff on vinyl, CD, or both. So when I went in my home office this morning I just started pulling jewel cases from my CD tower where I keep my maxi-singles and remixes. I hope you enjoy...
